11 Indian and Bangladeshi labourers suffocate to death

Saudi Arab: Eleven  were killed early this morning due a to a blaze which engulfed their dilapidated accommodation in the Saudi city of Najra.

The expatriate Indian and Bangladeshi workers suffocated to death as their three-bedroom derelict house had no windows for air circulation.

Six other labourers were also asphyxiated when fire broke out in the old house at 4am but they had a narrow escape, said a civil defence statement.

An inquiry was launched into the causes of the blaze.
